Sorry to be late on posting this one. Experimental inked rice paper collage technique was lots of fun and shows some promising results. Had a sneak peak at the poem for this one so the subject is influenced. Thanks to Bob Dylan.
Ode to Bob Dylan
To the one who ran away
at every age imaginable...
until the last one when he actually did
and tiptoed into stardom with only a harmonica
and a guitar...
and that off kilter voice…
that always rises at the end and makes my mom
grumble at his overrated ways.
To the guitar, that sprung forth that
river of notes that formed
the classics, the reinvented, the protest
"How many roads must a man walk down before they call him a man?"
Well Bob (if that's your real name)
very very many I suppose
with your track record.
Traveling the world's stage and
filling radios and kitchens and ears across the country
A special man who
seemed to not care and not try.
Never a redraft or a first draft
only a piece swirling with poetry.
The voice that changed so often, the motorcycle,
the man born again.
A mystery in the woodstock
an idol to another generation.
To the one who
influenced many and inspired a class
to examine his lyrics and the man behind them.
To Bob Dylan,
"may you stay Forever Young"
**a little contrived, but Bob Dylan lyrics class is done…i know too much about the guy…oh Bob…
