#5 Teach a man to fish

Made from a snack bar box. He may get some touch up paint later but for now I think his blandness is really appealing. Thanks to Jenna for all our grocery trips, we can't fish, we buy it in cans.

hahaha this one is cuz i was at the school of ed christmas party tonight:) its not the deepest but i really like it!!

Kids Book Christmas Poem
Gingerbread houses lined up on a square
confectioners sugar glistens in the glow of a florescent lightbulb
burning bright and bold
laughing in the face of the many
faces laughing back at the light for trying to emulate the sun.
The light dims, dejected and deterred by the chuckles
at its expense
it's spirit sinking and splitting
like the cracks in an old stone wall separating neighbors
or like holes in cheese,
distances breaking up an otherwise solid substance
and creating a division that fingers pull at and
wedge between.
Cameras shutter and the light is displeased
again
outdone by a sudden sparkle
and a passing shine,
The florescent lightbulb seeming duller still.
It dims and dims
but the laughter stops
the candycane porch swings can't swing
and the gumdrop windows don't glow.
The laughter wasn't at the light!
It was at the happiness created when
they could see.
The light glows with determination now
picking itself up and drifting off into the sky.
A new Christmas star is born out of simple happiness rather than
a necessity, ya know that other star had it rough
trying to convince everyone that
Jesus was here, woken up from his sleep
and given such a task.
But this new star, he knows Jesus is
really loud
and so this guy can just burn out of
wonderment and giggles.
He lets Jesus speak for himself
and he can shine for himself
and those laughing
and sharing in each other's
good cheer.

*Thanks to Zoe for the start and SED for the subject:)
